Lunch at the Pink & Lily (7)
A group of about 25, including some family members, met in the Pink & Lily pub car park for a 9 o'clock start on a grey and chilly morning. Ivan, under strict instructions to get us back to the pub in time to get changed, get some drinks and be ready to sit down to eat at 1.30, had planned a 10 mile route looping north and east above Princes Risborough, taking in the viewpoints of Whiteleaf Hill and Pulpit Hill. As forecast, the cloud cleared quite quickly to give us a generally sunny, crisp morning. Rucksacks started to swell with discarded gloves, hats and fleeces (apart from the occasional item dropped by the wayside), only to be emptied again when we stopped on top of Pulpit Hill for the first of two - yes TWO - coffee breaks.

Sticking to his brief, Ivan got us back to the Pink at about 12.45. There was a short flurry of action as the women shot off into the Ladies to change, abandoning the men to get goosepimples and turn blue stripping off muddy gear in the car park. Then it was drinks from the bar, chat, and lunch.

The lunch was excellent, and we were well looked after by the Pink & Lily's staff. Thanks to Martin for choosing the venue and organising the whole thing. Let's do it again next year!

P.S. If anyone would like a full-size high-resolution copy of any of the pictures (they'll print OK up to A4 size) just send me an email.
