Personal data is only collected on this site if you post a message in the Forum, contact us by email, or register online to enter the Oxon 40/20 challenge walk.
If you post in the Forum you are asked to supply your real name and a valid email address. Your name will appear on the Forum page with your post. Your email address will not appear: it will be kept secure and not passed to anyone else (subject only to the usual disclaimers about legitimate law-enforcement agencies and court orders). We do, though, reserve the right to contact you at the address you give for the purpose of verifying your identity or querying your post. Please see the posting guidelines for more details.
If you send an email using one of the links on the website your email address will only be retained for the purposes of responding to your message. A separate list of email addresses is kept solely for the purposes of the email alerts system (see Alerts). Group members are automatically registered with this system, but can unsubscribe at any time. Non-members will only be added to the system if they specifically ask to be registered for alerts.
The personal information you provide if you apply online to enter the Oxon 40/20 will be stored securely until after the event. Unless you specifically tell us otherwise we will keep your contact details, club membership, etc. so we can contact you when entries for the next Oxon 40/20 open. Anyone on our records who does not enter again for three years will be removed from the system. We will never pass your personal information to anyone else (again subject only to the usual disclaimers about legitimate law-enforcement agencies and court orders).
The Thames Valley Group does not have access to and cannot store your payment details. Payments are processed by PayPal via a secure web link and are subject to their data protection and privacy policy. For more information see PayPal's privacy statement.
The names of participants in the Oxon 40/20 walks appear in the pages of results for the event. The results pages are blocked to search engines and web crawlers that operate under the robots.txt and robots <meta> conventions so your name should not be picked up by responsible search engines.
Our web hosting service records various statistics about the usage of this site, including the number of visits, search engine terms, entry page, originating IP address, etc. None of this data is cross-referenced, and none is traceable back to any individual.
If you use the Google ® Custom Search ® facility on the home page, Google Inc. will store certain details of your search in accordance with their privacy policy. This includes, but is not limited to, your search request, IP address, browser type, and links you choose to follow. For more information see Google's privacy policy statement.
