Programme of Walks
Walk Leaders -- please notify any changes to the Webmaster. Any last-minute changes will be shown on this page and as a Newsflash on the Home Page.
Please note change of leader for walk on 21 February - Martin Burnell will lead instead of Kevin Knight.
On most of our walks, unless it says otherwise in the programme, you should bring food and drink for lunch and snacks. If the leader has planned for the group to eat lunch in a pub this will be clearly stated in the programme.
We show in green italics some (most) of the challenge events organised by our neighbouring groups. See "Strider", the LDWA website or the local Group's website for further details.
We organise several Weekends Away during the year. This year we are planning trips to the Lake District in June, the Brecon Beacons in August and Exmoor in September - details below. You will find reports of most of our Wekends Away for the past few years in the Journal or the archives.

- Steve's Lakes Weekend
- A long weekend of strenuous hillwalking on the fells of the Western Lake District, based at Keswick. Please book your own accommodation.
- There will be three full-day walks, on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a walk finishing by early afternoon on the Monday, to allow time to travel home afterwards. No walking programme will be published in advance, as the intention is to choose the route for each day’s walk on the day to take best advantage of the weather.
- Should the weather be good, walks will be up to c14 miles with up to c5000 feet of ascent, on rough ground. Several of the walks will not start at Keswick; a rendezvous point will be chosen in Keswick, where we can meet and drive to the actual starting point for the day’s walk. The meeting time each day will be 9 a.m. (Please make sure that your accommodation provides breakfast early enough for you to make this rendezvous.) All walks will have a picnic lunch stop.
- If you wish to come on this weekend, please contact Steve in advance for more details.
- Steve will be staying on in the Lakes for the London Group Lakes weekend led by Paul Lawrence which takes place the weekend after. He will be willing to lead walks for anyone who is interested on the intervening days, should anyone want to stay in the Lakes for longer than just the weekend.

- More details later (there will be an email alert and RSS news feed when the information is available). You should plan to find your own accommodation once the venue is decided.
