Welsh weekend and a very long walk - new Forum topics

I have posted two new messages on the Forum. One is about Clive's Welsh Weekemnd Away, asking for people to express an interest as soon as possible. The other is to tell you about someone who's walking from Edinburgh to New Zealand who'll be passing the fringes of our area in a week or two and would be happy for company and/or assistance.

Christmas Lunch, Red Kite report and mid-week walk (Jan 4)

It's time to book for the Christmas Lunch. It's on Sunday 11 December at a new venue, The Crown at Pishill. Details and a link to view/download the menu are on the Forum - see the thread on "Christmas Lunch".

Next, after some delay a report on Mathew's Red Kite Kanter, including a route map and a link to a Google Earth flyover of the route, is on the website.

And finally another mid-week walk has been added to the programme (too late for the next Strider). On Wednesday 4 January Gary U will lead Part 2 of his three-part project to walk the whole of the Wychwood Way. This is a short (15ml) leg starting at 9:30 in Charlbury with a pub lunch option. There are 2 more mid-week walks in the programme between now and Christmas. Neither are in Strider.

Thursday 3 November from Stokenchurch; 09:30 start, ca. 15 miles, led by John Esslemont, and

Wednesday 7 December from Wendover; 09:30 start, ca. 15 mls, led by John and Judy Nickerson.

Mid-Wales Weekend photos and walks programme updated

We have a page of photos from Duncan's Mid-Wales Weekend Away (16-18 September). You can also see Google Earth tracks of the routes and 3D flyovers. Find the page via the Journal or directly from the link.

The walks programme has been updated and now shows walks up to April next year.
